The Smarticks Easy Digital Downloads (EDD) integration fosters a cohesive customer support experience by connecting your EDD store directly to your Smarticks platform. This functionality equips agents with real-time access to customer purchase history within their profiles.

Technical Overview:

  • Order Visibility: Empower agents with immediate access to a customer’s recent EDD purchase history directly within their Smarticks profile, streamlining support interactions.
  • Software Licensing Integration (Optional): If the EDD Software Licensing plugin is installed, the functionality also displays the activation status of the customer’s licenses, providing a comprehensive customer overview.

Configuration:

  • Global or Mailbox-Specific: Configure EDD settings either globally for all mailboxes (Manage > Settings > EDD) or on a per-mailbox basis within individual mailbox settings.
  • API Credentials: To establish the connection, enter your EDD store’s API credentials within the Smarticks functionality’s settings page. These credentials can be generated in your WordPress admin area following the provided instructions (link omitted for SEO optimization).

Troubleshooting:

  • Compatibility: Ensure your EDD store meets the minimum requirement (EDD 1.5 or later) and is not protected by Basic HTTP Authentication.
  • API Credentials: Double-check that the entered API credentials are accurate and possess the necessary permissions within your EDD store.
  • Recurrent Payments Limitation: The functionality currently displays only the first payment for subscriptions managed by the “Recurrent Payments” add-on.
  • Order Retrieval: Orders are retrieved based on the customer’s primary email address in EDD. Secondary email addresses are not considered.
  • Missing Information: If specific order data appears unavailable, it might be due to limitations in the EDD API not returning that information.
