Smarticks GDPR functionality empowers businesses to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) by facilitating customer data deletion upon request.
Technical Overview:
- Customer & Conversation Deletion: Permanently delete customer profiles and all associated conversations directly from the customer profile page.
- Background Process: The deletion process operates in the background and may take a few minutes to complete.
- Optional Email Deletion: Enable email deletion from the original mail server within “Manage > Settings > General” for a more comprehensive data removal process. Be aware that this might slow down conversation deletion.
Configuration:
- Access Control: By default, only admins can delete customers and conversations. Grant access to non-admin users through “Manage > Settings > General” or individual user permission settings.
Troubleshooting:
- Slow Deletion: Enabling email deletion from the mail server can impact deletion speed. Consider this trade-off when configuring the functionality.
